GOING THE DISTANCE - Competition

To celebrate the release of GOING THE DISTANCE in UK cinemas from Friday 10th September we've got three sets of fantastic prizes to giveaway. All you have to do is answer the simple question below to the regular info@movievortex email address to be in with a chance of winning. To help you along we've got some more information about the film as well as a look at the trailer for this new rom-com starring Drew Barrymore and Justin Long.

Erin’s (Drew Barrymore) wry wit and unfiltered frankness charm newly single Garrett (Justin Long) over beer, bar trivia and breakfast the next morning.  Their chemistry sparks a full-fledged summer fling, but neither expects it to last once Erin heads home to San Francisco and Garrett stays behind for his job in New York City.  But when six weeks of romping through the city inadvertently become meaningful, neither is sure they want it to end.  And while Garrett’s friends, Box (Jason Sudeikis) and Dan (Charlie Day), joke about his pre-flight calorie-cutting and his full-time relationship with his cell phone, they don’t like losing their best drinking buddy to yet another rocky romance.  At the same time, Erin’s high-strung, overprotective married sister, Corrine (Christina Applegate), wants to keep Erin from heading down an all-too-familiar road.

But despite the opposite coasts, the nay-saying friends and family, and a few unexpected temptations, the couple just might have found something like love, and with the help of a lot of texting, sexting and late-night phone calls, they might actually go the distance.

Release date: 10th September 2010
Cast: Drew Barrymore, Justin Long, Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, Jim Gaffigan & Christina Applegate

Scott Pilgrim Premiere: Bloggers Delight

Earlier this week we were lucky enough to be one of the few outlets invited to attend the European premiere of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. You already know how much we loved the film (if not check out this fantastic review) and we managed to catch a few words with the team behind the film.

We were tweeting from the red carpet, but just in case you missed it here are some of the highlights.

In attendance were: Edgar Wright, Michael Bacall, Bryan Lee O’Malley, Anna Kendrick, Kieran Culkin, Brie Larson, Satya Babha, Chris Evans, Brandon Routh, Jason Schwartzman, Ellen Wong and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Oh and not forgetting the man himself… Michael Cera, who plays Scott Pilgrim.

Things started of in a surreal manner as Cera stepped out of the limo and had the initials MC scrawled on his face (quite willingly I should add).

Jason Schwartzman went at great lengths to explain the relationship between central characters Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers and his own evil ex Gideon. Satya Bhaba, who plays the first ex, told us how important a high school romance can be and also told us how much fun it was to play a villain.
